Ingredients
Salt, Dried Plum, Red Chilli, Onion, Garlic, Turmeric, Cinnamon, Mango Powder, Clove, Bay Leaf, Ginger, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Sugar, Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid).

Cooking Instructions
Preparation Time: 20 minutes | Cooking Time: 40-50 minutes | Serves: 5-6 portions
- Fry
- Finely slice 3 medium onions and fry in ¾ cup (150g) hot oil until golden brown. Set aside.
- Add 500g of meat along with 2 tablespoons of ginger and garlic paste. Sauté for 5 minutes.
- Add 1¼ cup (250g) yogurt and 1 pack of National Biryani Recipe Mix. Stir and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Cook
- Add 1 cup of water for chicken or 3-4 cups for beef/mutton. Cover and cook on low heat until the meat is tender.
- Simmer
- Add 3 finely sliced tomatoes and sauté on high heat until the oil separates.
- Boil Rice
- Soak 2½ cups (500g) of Basmati rice in water. Boil the soaked rice in 12 cups of water with 3 tablespoons of salt until ¾ cooked. Drain well.
- Layering
- Spread a little oil from the curry at the bottom of a pot. Add a layer of half the rice, pour the meat curry on top, and cover with the remaining rice.
- Sprinkle yellow food coloring if desired.
- Steam
- Cover and cook on high heat for 3 minutes, then reduce the heat and steam for 10 minutes.
Serving
Serve with raita and salad.
